I've coached and employed hundreds of real estate agents. Here are my top 3 tips for a brand spanking new agent.
1. Part-Time Job or 4-6 months of Savings
You may not want to hear it, but you're going to need to have four to six months worth of savings or some type of a part-time job, but here's the reality, the reality is that the turnaround is roughly about a four to six month period before you're going to actually see your first paycheck.
2. Sphere of Influence
Start talking to everybody that you know. The people that trust you are the most important to speak to and I'll tell you that it's the worst feeling in the world walking up to a family members house for say a barbecue or a dinner, and as you walk up to their house you see a for sale sign that doesn't belong to you.
The most ideal approach to fixing this is by letting everyone know that you have a real estate license, as well as, asking them to refer their friends or family.
3. Learn Your Scripts
For 15 years I acquired clients based on my sheer personality and persistence. It didn't have to be as hard as I made it had I mastered my scripts. Think of script practice in the same way an attorney practices his/her argument before a jury. It's the exact same thing!
