The late legend Arnold Palmer was a professional golfer who won many golf tournaments and brought the sport of golf to the masses. Nicknamed “The King,” Palmer’s passion towards golf was unmatched by fellow professionals. In earlier time, golf was familiar only to a specific demographic. Palmer, through his efforts, made golf appealing to middle and working classes. Professional Life of Arnold Palmer

There were two more members who were as efficient as Palmer; Jack Nicklaus and Gray Player. They were renowned as “The big three” in golf in 1960s. All three worked together to make golf popular and commercial sport around the world. Palmer won the PGA Tour Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998. Palmer’s aim was to establish golf as a television event and make it popular. Palmer had golf –related business career. He owned Bay Hill Club and Lodge, wherein which Arnold Palmer Invitational golf tournament will take place. He owned many other golf clubs across the world.

Arnold Daniel Palmer, nicknamed “the King” was born on September 10th, 1929 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania and died on September 25th, 2016 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was married to Winifired Walzer Palmer and after her death he married Kathleen Gawthrop.  He turned into professional golfer in the year 1954, and got retired in the year 2006. He has won around 95 professional golf tournaments.
